I also got the M5 and if you are unhappy with the sound quality check first and foremost if the left and right channel are switched. My first pair had this problem and I opened a ticket directly with Brainwavz and they sent a replacement unit (made me cut up the M5 cable in multiple places and send a picture as proof ;-)). The replacement M5 has the same problem !! Something went seriously wrong with the cabling of a M5 production batch it seems. Brainwavz will replace the faulty M5 yet again (thanks for that) but they are out of stock now (probably acknowledging the problem) and it will take two to four weeks for new (hopefully working) stock to be available.

Razorblader, thank you so much for the feedback! I honestly wouldn't have thought of that. Sure enough the channels are flipped. Guess I'm opening a ticket with Brainwavz. Talk about a QC issue... For anyone else having issues, there's basic channel test videos on YouTube.
