In addition to a well-rounded set of nibs, this Brause Calligraphy Bundle also includes a pad of Clairefontaine Fine Art Calligraphy "Japon" Paper that is manufactured using a traditional dutch art paper method. Each ivory 130 g sheet of paper has a smooth finish that works well with the sharp points of the script nibs to prevent them from catching mid-stroke, and also lets the flat ends of the traditional nibs lay down solid, streak-free lines of ink. To get your practice off to a good start, the Brause Lettering Practice Cards offer templates for nine different scripts including Carolingian Script, Chancery Cursive, Gothic, Gothic Black Letter, Gothic Fraktur, Italic Script, Modern Sans Serif, Roman Alphabet, and Unical. With bold black printing for each letter style, and little arrows that indicate the movement and direction of each stroke as well as their succession, a sketched diagram shows the nib angle required for each script and the cards can be traced through a variety of paper types allowing you to commit every stroke to muscle memory.
