FelixSpeedGThe left channel isn't dead. It's just fussy. It's a common problem, but oddly hard to research. The only fix I have found is changing tubes. Some tubes that work 100% in another amp just don't play correctly in the Ocean. The left channel will be muffled, garbled or fade in and out. Changing tubes eventually works. I am sure there is a mod that helps, but I don't understand caps, resistors, circuits, or electricity.
Is this one going to ship directly from China too? I had considered ordering one but don't want to wait 3 months like I did for the last Bravo drop.. Also anyone have any thoughts on this vs the V3? I was unimpressed with the V3 and don't really expect to find anything amazing in this price range, but I like the look of these little tube amps. If this is better I might sell/give away the V3.
Edit: From other comments, it sounds like this one is taking several months to arrive too, so I guess I'm gonna pass. RIP massdrop.
Well my reading was good enough to know you’ve contradicted yourself 💯x’s.
I mean initially you never bought this amp cause you know....postage.
Next thing you’re all bent out of shape over your purchase taking soooo long to reach your precious hands.
So which is it??.....TrOlL mUCh??
Rowdy2026Once again if you had read the entire thread you would see my question was because I had ordered a DIFFERENT amp from the same company, through drop and was worried about ANOTHER horrible shipping experience. You're only further proving my point and the troll thing is an obvious projection..
Anyone tried these with the 6XX? I got the senneheisers and was thinking about trying it on a tube like everyone recommends, but I heard this pairing is not really that great - anyone can comment on that?
I also bought this like four years ago on Amazon. It was in the storage for a whole year last year. After I took it out, it's noise has increased to an unacceptable level (it used to be quite noticeable also). I tried replacing the tube, got better, then worse again after two weeks. I wonder what the problem is. I bought an O2 and a little dot MKIII instead now.
EmpereHenriMine sounds terrible. There is quite a bit of static and it seems related to the volume control. I also have the Ocean V2, which sounds superb! I wanted to portability of the Bravo. It doesn't seem related to the tube, which I've replaced.
