As a tea novice, I needed tips! NO written description of the glass, on paper or online, except for the word "borsillicate", which is fine, but this single wall glass is really THIN! Microwave? Stovetop? I am not a tea brewing person; as this was an impulse buy from Massdrop, I have NO IDEA what the recommended and safe way is to use this particulat pot in this "two story" configuration. :(

Tough break (no pun intended), but you know, Borosilicate is the generic name for Pyrex, the same glass used in a lot of lab ware and bake ware. Can't say the stuff is indestructible, but it's hard to find anything stronger (it's claim to fame is that it takes high-heat and doesn't shatter). So when you say it cracked, do you mean it chipped, or that it broke into pieces?

FYI. This duo is made from very thin glass. I dropped lid from 7-10" height and it cracked.
