As someone who doesn't keep up with the watch community , can someone explain do alot of people seem to hate it? What makes a 'luxury' watch a good luxury watch ? I know price is out of the question so is it materials , looks ?

AzeendeenThe best watch is the watch on your wrist. But the best part of being in the watch community is completely crapping all over watches you’re never going to buy. Welcome!

AzeendeenBreitling makes many over priced watches with very middle end movements and they are predatory about advertising in my opinion. This model and some others have the new B01 in house movement but before late 2018 they used ETA or Sellita chrono movements that are in watches that cost around 1-2k and breitling would charge 8-10k for their brand name when really they don’t have amazing brand equity. No doubt it’s made well but quite simply it’s overpriced for a brand that’s not been doing well. Also for breitling prices you can get into Rolex or omega or any other middle end watch brand. Finally, you take a massive hit on resale value with most breitling watches and if you buy this for 9k if you can even sell it you’ll lose 3-4k.
