We've been talking about an exclusive for awhile, but Jason's growing team has been busy - they recently completed his largest order to date, a special edition of 6000 pieces for Battlbox, and we're pleased that he made time for a Massdrop Exclusive just as he finished production on that order and a very busy Blade Show 2017.
Most of his knives have larger handles and aggressive blade profiles, but we wanted a model for the Massdrop community that was EDC-friendly...the obvious choice was Jason's own EDC of choice, the Bionic 2.0 - but, of course, we had to make it even better and offer it for a lower price. So we asked Jason to make the scales from G-10 for lighter weight and better grip, and to help us make it available to the Massdrop community for less than the original Bionic 2.0 - he delivered.
The prototype looked great, but when we handled it at Blade Show, we realized that identical machining that is perfect for the anodized aluminum scales left sharper edges on the edges of the scale texture when working with G-10; of course, Jason had to make it perfect, so he adjusted the process for the new material and what you see pictured are the final production samples. We think it turned out great and hope you do, too!
Each piece of this Massdrop exclusive production run will be shipped in a Brous Blades hard carrying case with a numbered certificate of authenticity. Please note that 1) total production will be limited to 1000 total pieces of these three colors combined, and 2) numbers will be randomly assigned; the order in which you join the drop will not determine the number of the knife you get.
