Shaped like a humpback whale, the Parallax from Brous Blades features a wide-bellied drop-point blade with excellent slicing power. Made from D2—Jason Brous’s material of choice—it delivers good edge retention and corrosion resistance, and is relatively easy to sharpen Read More
I own one of these, the black-wash version. For all of those saying its a higher quality piece than say ZT or Benchmade.. it's not. It feels cheap and came with the worst lockstick of any knife I've handled. Buy a couple ZTs for the price of this thing, you won't regret it.
HowAmIBrous doesn't work with anything but D2. All of their blades are hand ground, they are not mass produced blades. Each one being made by Jason himself. I have a Brous T4 flipper that has been a great knife, although I have other blades that I use for utilitarian purposes. I'd never sell it, I love the action and the feel of the flip.
I don't really think Brous needs to add a ball bearing, the bearing system they use is very fast.
There are plenty of people carrying and using $400 + knives everyday. Problem with this one is, you can buy it in multiple places online for the exact same price. No savings in this drop.
sometimes i feel there is a lot of pretentious sellers on mass drop. I am willing to buy something that i think is worth a drop but to say a knife that originally cost 519 dollars and sell it for 400 dollars has no logic. Even no logic in selling it for 400 dollars. Just saying
chenry99The Parallax is normally $519, other sites run sales when Brous does deals with other places, such as here on MassDrop. If you check this titanium color is the only one on "sale" for $399, the other colors are the normal price of $519.
RealizerI managed to grab a deal for this on Black Friday directly from Brous' website. I am extremely happy with this knife; it's my nighttime dog-walking carry. It has a very fine tip, which benefits from the use of D2 as the steel.
LazYevgenI'd agree, if they weren't small batch hand finished blades. These are a notch above the likes of Zero Tolerance, and Benchmade, in my opinion.
Dear Massdrop:
God knows anything is possible in the world these days. Could you please set up a Rapier Group as a subgroup of EDC? We have two members so far...
Any other takers?
Sincerely yours,
Axeguy
PS. I want a shiny one.
