This is my first purchase of a monocular scope, and I am rather disappointed with this particular model. I wanted a monocular scope for the occasional bird or dragonfly. The magnification of 7 is OK, but not great. My biggest gripes are that the field of vision is too small at 18. and also that the focus range is extremely hard to get just right. But of course I am comparing this to my 10 X 25 binoculars, which are not so great for birding, but excellent for watching a grizzly or bighorn sheep from 1/2 mile away. I will look at some other monoculars to see if there's something like a lightweight 8 X 25-30. It would of course be a bit heavier, but it would be more functional for my needs. I like the price I paid for the Echo, but if I can find another one that works better for me, I will gift this one to a friend.

Where's the zoom. This is not a zoom!
A fixed focal length scope is not a zoom. A zoom can change focal length, such as zoom in and zoom out. I bought this small scope because of it's zoom capabilities, and it has none.

Check Brunton’s website and you’ll see it’s not a zoom. The description of the product and list price is for a more expensive product that does zoom. The picture displayed on Drop is not the product in the description. The actual product is described here https://www.brunton.com/products/echo-zoom-monocoular?variant=36246125714 This might not be a case of bait and switch, but just a mistake on Drop's part. Drop should send each person who was sent the wrong product the actual product in the description, which is known as the Brunton Echo Zoom Monocoular. Not doing so could be considered fraud.

Value for money
It doesn't disappoint and it doesn't excite. It is tiny though so is a handy EDC item.

Cute, but not useful
Small, light, cheap, but too difficult to hold steady enough to be useful.

This is a great product for the price. Portable and seems well built. I can get a pretty decent zoom and focus adjustment gets me the right sharpness. The only cons seems to be the nylon pouch which seems to have a poor fit, the closure only sticks to half the velcro - but again for this price, can't really complain
