Can you confirm the size? Says the writing space is just shy of 6"x6". Is it exactly 15.2cm x 15.2cm? And what's the dimension of the closed sketchbook please?

ed.edThe actual paper size is 6 x 5 3/4". But with the copper bar on, usable writing space becomes 5 1/8 x 5 3/4" or 13cm x 14.6cm. External dimensions are 6 7/8 x 6 1/2 x 5/8" or 17.6 x 16.5 x 1.5cm. Hope this helps. Sorry for the initial lack of clarity.

BulldoggeMuch clearer thanks. Can't wait to get mine. One more thing, is the pull up leather softer than the other option?

I've been using the Slate Sketchbook for over a week and have received multiple compliments on the look and size of the notebook. It's lightweight, durable, and the tear away bar is extremely convenient.
The pen slot fits my Ti-Scribe bolt pen perfectly and is a great feature, as well.
Pretty sure I have to buy the Standard American Book now. Nice work Bulldogge!
Howdy Everyone,
I was also able to try out one of these its awesome! The quality of leather used is great a reminds me of my horse saddle from back in the day because its so thick. I love the smell of fine leather and this for sure fits the bill. In short, it looks great, smells great, and is very well made!
Cheers.

I was lucky enough to be able to try out our sample of the sketchbook and wanted to share a quick take and couple pics.
So far, I love it! Ive been using it for notes, and the primary positive things I have to say about it come from the form factor and the tear away bar. The size and feel of the notebook are perfect for me to carry around with my laptop, and it just looks polished and professional in comparison to some of the other paper notebooks I use. The note tear away bar is really useful for me as I like to write and draw up ideas and this makes that super natural. I also feel good about being able to replace the paper and use this for a while.
The one one downside I've experienced so far is the pen slot. I think it's a really great design element to have space for a pen, but my lamy fountain pen hook is a bit huge and doesn't fit in the Pre made slot. I just hung it on the top of the notebook, though, and that worked just as well.

I thought that about Bull and Stash products when I first saw them. If you look back through social media I had been making and selling these books for a couple years before there kickstarter ever launched (Tear bar and all). But at the end of the day many people have similar ideas, we just see a lot more now because of the web. There is plenty of place in the market for numerous manufacturers. I would recommend looking at the history of a given product before claiming that something is a knock-off.

BulldoggeApparently, you "started making these books in 2014." That is information directly from the about section on your website. Kickstarter for Bull and Stash ran in 2014. So my claim of you guys being a "knock off" isn't so far-fetched. I agree that there is plenty of space for both of you to exist, but you both have the same logo in the same place. If you don't want to be confused as a knock-off then you should probably do better to establish yourself as a different company. Regardless of who came first (which you were both in the same year), they are more visible than you.
