The Bulova Sea King, like its name suggests, is not for the faint of heart. It’s big (50 millimeters, to be exact) and it’s chunky—but the large case is warranted as it’s water resistant to a whopping 300 meters Read More
Hi Guys,
Confused? about whether you should or shouldn't buy this watch? Well, I went through this too. But, I made it easy for you now, check out my review on the Bulova sea king dive watch. And, be your own judge.
I have a Precisionist Chronograph (Wilton), and it is very nicely made, and I wouldn't call anything about it cheap. I can't speak for this style, or any other watch, but Bulova seems to put out a quality product from what I've read? My watch is about 46mm, and too big for most people, but I have 8.25" wrists, and think it works pretty well. :) 50mm might be pushing it a bit much, but I suppose being a diver style probably would allow a bit more leeway there...
I find the quartz sweeping second hand to be intriguing. I didn't see a style I couldn't live without, though. A coworker has a precisionist and stated it is the only watch he needs. Dude just takes care of it and changes batteries when necessary. Isn't even looking at other watches. It is like he is married to the watch or something. I can't live that way. Too much out there to see and learn about. Good luck on the hunt, everyone!
Why I would pick a 50mm+ watch:
- Grab a vibranium version and sub in for Captain America
- Show Godzilla the time ("you were supposed to be at Mothra's at 8")
- No cost parasailing
- Can take that 5th slice of pizza on first trip at buffet
- A tinfoil cover will get you 22 more channels
- Able to quickly descend snow covered mountains while bad guys are running to their snowmobiles
Why I would NOT pick a 50mm+ watch:
- Constantly being held on suspicion of stealing hubcaps
- Being mistaken for an AWACS plane if within 100 miles of border
- Always being asked where the food order is when dining out
- Flashburns on the moon when checking time on sunny days (or worse, accidentally starting an interstellar war)
