These look sleek and pointy, and the leather is very supple for the price. I have had no issues cleaning these, and the leather has yet to degrade and crack. The sole is slippery compared to a lugged sole, but is good enough for sidewalks.
I was looking for a pair of Chelsea boots but considering I have no experience with leather boots - I'm more of a sneakerhead - I didn't want to spend an exorbitant amount on a shoe style that I might not like. However, I am glad I chose these because I think they were a good introduction to Chelsea's and leather boots in general.
I bought these almost a year ago (Aug 2019) and the leather has held up well and the boots are still comfortable. I will say that since the boot is leather soled it was extremely slippery at first and I had to be very careful especially when it rained but now that it has been roughed up it has good traction. Also it fits more on the large side: the boots happen to be somewhat wide so the fit isn't as tight as I would have liked but its nothing a shoe insert and some thicker socks cannot fix.
Overall, good product and you get what you pay for. If you want top notch leather and a perfect fit you may have to look elsewhere but if you're looking for a sturdy pair of boots that you can beat around while still looking stylish, these are for you.
Ordered a 9, boot is half a size too big. Also it seems to have been made for someone with massive cankles? There's an inexcusable amount of extra room at the opening.
For the price these are the sharpest looking Chelsea's I've seen. They are obviously heavily based on SLP's boot but have a much shorter heel. They great, break in fast, and are well made for the price. I'm a 12 in most other shoes and they fit me true to size.
The biggest downside I'll say is the sole is super slick in the very beginning. I nearly died at least 3 times stepping on painted curbs or walking down steep hills. Once they are roughed up they grip better but are still way slicker than the average pair of sneakers. If you live somewhere with ice or frequent rain getting some rubber put on the bottom will save you.
Really loving the blake construction which equates to really comfortable soles which are breaking in nicely. Comfy and well constructed but the toebox was a bit uncomfortable the first few days but I expected that. Can't believe the detail for the price.
I bought a smooth black version (Gala). I have to say this is worth the asking price, compare to similar priced shoes from other brands (florsheim, cole haan, alfani, kenneth cole - yes I own those brands' shoes as well).
This is my initial impression. The shoes are light weight, fit perfectly (size 9.5) and very comfortable to wear. I will have to wear it for a few more months to see how it worn overtime. Most shoes I wear lasted 2-3 years. If this pairs last as long, I would not hesitate to buy again.
The only problem I have, which is common to this type of shoes is that I slide all over the place since the bottom of the shoes are smooth. LOL.
The shoes fit according to their sizing printout. However, as opposed to what another reviewer said, I found the width to be quite loose. The shoes aren't bad or anything, but for someone who's relatively skinny, these shoes don't really work out.
I do want to point out that the company has pretty good customer service. The shoes I ordered here ended up being way too small and so I contacted Caballero directly and they were able to get me the new size (although it does take about 4 months).
These are looking like a steal. The only con is that they are really narrow, but after 10 or so days they molded to my foot and are no longer uncomfortable.
Damn handsome boots
