I looked at the CAD site and there are a couple of things worth mentioning about the GXL800:

It is offered there as a stereo pair, not as a single mic.
The specs say frequency response is 50Hz - 16kHz, not 20Hz - 20kHz as listed here.

Also, I don't see the frequency response graph for GXL1800 there... Anyway, the two included XLR cables might be worth $30, so perhaps this is a good value.
