Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. The number of members having abnormal volume or static noise issues is relatively small compared to the size of the group. If you suspect the microphone you received is exhibiting these issues, please feel free to reach out to Massdrop Support at https://www.massdrop.com/support. We will be happy to coordinate help with you and CAD.
I know you're trying to help, Arthur, but this is obviously silly. What conditions? Connected to a Windows 7 computer? lol. They did say that I can send mine in for repair/replacement. Maybe Arthur is right though and we are a small minority of the drop with the issue.
I have tried on three different computers with Windows 7, 8 (and 8.1) and 10 with all showing the same issue. The static shows up on Audicity and Open Broadcaster Software. Does not show up on testing with Skype (although slightly quiet) and Steam. Is it a software issue?
I think there are a reasonable amount people experiencing issues although the severity does vary.
