Pretty amazing gadget. Tried it out with 2 kinds of coffee, Melitta Columbian Supreme and Lavazza Cafè Espresso. The results were amazing. Funnily enough with the Columbian Supreme a second run with the same grounds produced a weaker but still tasty results, but with the Lavazzo Cafè Espresso the first press was superb, but a second press produced dishwater. Which was an interesting way test how efficient the device is. But, it may be more about the nature of the coffee, and probably about how finely it is ground. Bottom line I used to have an espresso maker in my kitchen, but I haven't since I live in apartments. I now have an option to get a cup of espresso, without necessarily having to go out. Bottom line, here is the optimal recipe. Use a good quality Espresso grind. I put one level scoop of grounds in the compartment, and tamp it down with the scoop. Then I pour 190F water to the 30 ml mark, and wait until the first drop appears. Then I top it up to 60 and use the plunger, this soaking time allows the grounds to give up all their taste, and you get a competent espresso drink.

I been using this over a year now. Expectation can't be too high, this give you pretty ok shots, if you want REAL coffee shots from Vivace, you get up and go Vivace..... I rate this 5 because its portability and durability, coffee quality not so much, at most 2.5/5. But I am impressed nonetheless, for how convenient and portable it is. I also own other aeropress, seriously if you care about coffee that much then go actual coffee shop. But if you want something to go and don't really care about coffee taste, this is it. Way better than any hotel coffee, I like this better than Nespresso machine because I got good beans.

The filter on this thing is terrible. It lets through coffee grounds on all but the coarsest grinds resulting in super bitter gritty coffee. This is far from an actual espresso as promised. It is difficult to clean with too many parts that get dirty with each use. It fails to build sufficient pressure to use with fine grounds no matter how hard you push. I suspect the low pressure is why they made the holes in the filter so damn big. The aeropress and other similar products do everything this tries to do much better for a similar or lower cost and weight. The only advantage this has is it's smaller and includes a cup built in.

It is easy to use and small enough but couldn't get any crema with it I suspect the pressure isn't enough
