Moscow Mules should be served in copper mugs. As in 100% copper, not copper plated. Plated stainless steel defeats the purpose of copper's high conductivity. I wouldn't recommend these.

angelesExactly! There is a reaction with the copper. Stainless steel interior just makes these fancy cups with no real function other than holding liquids.

angelesStick your finger in a wall socket as you take your first sip and tell me they're not conductive enough for you!

RayFHaha! If it doesn't matter, why not just use all stainless steel? And why go on and on in the description about the copper-plating? It may be simply aesthetic, but if so, it isn't at all aesthetically pleasing to have a copper outside contrasting with a steel colored inside. And the fact is: a real Moscow Mule is served in a 100% copper mug. If it doesn't matter to you, great! Just serve it in a tin cup or a regular glass.

angelesYou're confusing someone else's comments with mine (apparently you've reached your mule limit). I don't care what they're made of--I care how they feel in my hand.

RayFNope. I got it. Was replying to "stick your finger in a wall socket, etc.". That's you. The implication of your comment is it doesn't matter if the cups are 100% copper or just copper-plated. And if you don't care at all, then great! That's legit. But it begs the question, why are you looking at this buy? Why not just use any old glass that feels good in your hand, if it doesn't matter at all what it looks like? I bet you already have glasses like that at home; glasses that feel good in your hand and would hold a Moscow Mule. Why spend the money if it doesn't matter? ;-)

angelesI’ve no interest in these mugs, just passing on the wisdom of my years, and you’re right, I have manycarefully selected glasses for drinks of all types—and they all feel good in hand (function over fashion is always preferable). But don’t let any of that stop you from finding a nice wall socket....

RayFWell, you have some interest. You are here, looking at the item, and putting in your two cents worth of "wisdom". Though you seem no wiser than anyone else on this thread. You just have a different opinion, not a better or wiser one.
Agreed. Function more important. And, as noted by another commenter, the copper does serve a function.
No need to get nasty and wish death by electocution on someone for disagreeing with you... Or for any reason. I laughed the first time, it was a funny joke. But the second time? You did that with malice and the intention of being nasty for no good reason. Not cool and, generally where I end a discussion with someone.

RayFAh, what a gripping life you do lead from your parent's basement: trolling the comments section of Massdrop for products you have zero interest in so you can make nasty comments to strangers who have done you no harm and just generally be unpleasant for no reason at all.

angelesYou have a low threshold of nasty and unpleasant. Don’t be so fragile and more importantly, don’t take shit you read on the internet too seriously—it’s not good for your constitution.
