For such a simple question it is suprisingly hard to answer! I got the io's about a week ago and they are the most illogical IEMs I've ever heard. I'm not a metalhead or too much of a hip hop fan so go easy on me. I checked out a couple of slipknot songs with them and... No go. These are pretty honky IEMS and it was really prevalent here, way too out of balance. The bass from the balanced armature wasn't prominent enough to really give Jay's kicks any real impact. What was really interesting though how IO's good treble extension and sound staging came into play. It gave a better insight to Jim and mick's guitar work. The IOs really seperated them out which was fun. Overall I prefer the MW07s for metal. I tried a bit of Dr. Dre for hip hop and.... It suprisingly really bloody good. The IOs are a weird W shape sound signature and it worked to an advantage here. Bass was deep and prominent, percussion was crisp and bright and vocals were really forward and revealing. I usually struggle with keeping up with rap but I was hanging off every word with the IOs. I preferred the IOs over the blessing 2 dusk for this instance. It was a mixed bag sorry to say, hope my experience helped!

These have become my 'every day use' in-ears. The soundscape is amazing when used with my AK700. Personally not a fan of hip hop as I'm an old codge still hung up on John Coltrane and the like. These are a joy with jazz, classical etc. They are worth every $ and make it all enjoyable
