I'm pretty interested in these but of course the cost gives me pause. I have a fair number of low-to-mid level IEMs and this seems like a good, sturdy upgrade. The detachable cable also really entices me.
Does anyone know if I purchased an MMCX cable with inline mic and phone controls if the controls and mic would work with these? I would guess that all the necessary tech would be included in the control part of the cable so it'd work fine, but I thought I'd ask.
And yes, I am aware that using these with a phone is a huge waste of their potential. But if I can use them on the go, as well as at home with a nicer setup, I'd like to take advantage.

Yes. It'll work with any mmcx compatible earphone. The real question is if the mic and controls will work with your smartphone as it may work with some and not others.

i would use them mainly on my phone too and on my cheap soundcard (esi prodigy xfi), do you think it would be a waste of money to buy them? at the moment im using the dt 770 and soundmagic e10s for everything.

I'm certainly no expert at all, so I'd ask others about their thoughts on the matter. I just added that caveat to my question because I know audiophiles often cringe at high end equipment being run on a phone. I just was trying to explain myself to preemptively cut off any criticism.
I would guess, without being informed at all, that you would notice a nice upgrade from the Soundmagics, but would maybe not take full advantage without a dedicated music player or a DAC. Sorry that I can't offer any real words of wisdom. Anybody else have thoughts on using these primarily with a phone?
