Rare Earth, Rarer Audio—Redesigned for the New Decade

Campfire Audio’s Vega IEM took the audiophile world by storm with its state-of-the-art components, synergistic design, and stunning audio. Now, the Vega design is back in the new and improved Vega 2020. Like its predecessor, the Vega 2020 sports a first-of-its-kind ADLC non-crystalline diamond-like carbon dynamic driver. However, while the original's measured 8.2 millimeters across, the Vega 2020's are 10 millimeters in diameter for more headroom and power. Augmenting their performance are strong neodymium rare earth magnets, which create an ideal magnetic field for the voice coil’s operation. Encasing these components is another new feature for Vega 2020: ultra-dense ceramic housings. Together with well-placed vents and acoustic dampeners, the Vega 2020'a ceramic housings control resonance for a breathtakingly natural soundstage. Rounding out the build, a silver-plated, beryllium copper MMCX cable ensures crystal-clear signal transmission from any source.

That's an awfully steep discount...it's to the point where it's too much and serves as a siren song that serves as a huge caution before even thinking about buying this.

I own original Vega and Cascade. For the price, neither are very durable and I think they're overpriced. Great sound, but durability issues have put me off Campfire Audio.Read More
