Tristan944@Tristan944,
We have decided to shut this drop down as the pricing was not advantageous enough for our community. We hope to offer this lens in the future when the pricing structure allows us to do so.
Cheers!

Thanks again for joining the drop with the community. We submitted the group’s order with the vendor for the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Lens shortly after the drop ended and they have begun preparing it for shipment.
Once the group’s order is ready at the vendor’s location, they will ship the packages individually to you as soon as possible.
Once we receive confirmation regarding the shipping schedule from the vendor, we will provide you guys with updated information on the status of your package.
Expect an update from us on 10/29 or sooner.

Careful about this lens, if it really is the European version. If you need warranty work in the US, this lens will not be covered. If I've understood correctly, this would be a gray market lens and Canon USA does not cover gray market for warranty work .

Is it possible to do a drop with more than one product. A complete bundle of things you may want from one or two manufacturers?

To Everyone Else,
I've had this lens for ages, and will add some comments.
First, everyone is quite correct about the build of this lens. It's quite cheap, but about spot on for its low price--and the return on investment is the best in the business (you can do more creatively with this lens than many that cost 10x as much). I have the f/1.4 too, which is a bit heavier and quicker and crisper, yada yada, but it goes for 3x the cost. I've yet to drop 14x as much for another 1/3 (1/2?) stop.
If you only have a kit lens or something with a max aperture of f/3.5, you should seriously consider this lens. You simply don't have control over creative capacity with a lens that can't produce shallow depth of field. Even the kit lenses that come with the 5D III and 6D (the 24-105 f/4), a fantastic all around lens, does not offer the shallow depth of field of this one. Note that if you have an APS-C format camera (the Rebel, X0D, and 7D series), this will be like an 80mm lens (perfect for portraiture) with an effective max aperture of about f/2. For $90 including shipping, you should get it.
Oh, and people saying things about more expensive filters for the STM version, WHY WOULD YOU PUT A FILTER ON THIS LENS?!?! On an L series lens when you're not sure what it might come in contact with, ok, but generally speaking, putting another layer of glass (or plastic!!) on a lens (a finely crafted series of layers of glass) is not a great idea. In fact, it's a bad idea. Scratches on lenses (if you can scratch them) have little effect. It's a myth. Filters are a way of camera stores to make some money, and typically cost them about 1/10 to 1/5 of what they sell them for.
Bottom line, if you want to learn photography and don't want to spend an arm and a leg, get this lens.
Cheers.

SanscritHi Sanscrit, Yes, you appear to be missing . . . everything! The entire point of MassDrop is to get a group of people together to commit to buy something. The manufacturer (or retailer) agrees to lower the price of the item depending on how many people commit to buy. You can either buy the item at the current price (click on "JOIN NOW" and pay the current $1XX($1XX with shipping), or commit to buy if the price hits its lowest price of XX($XX with shipping) (click on "Commit to join at $XXXX)--and you will ONLY be charged if the price drops to that price. Regardless, the best price on Amazon for a new version is $XXXC, free shipping, but tax depending on where you live. At $XX this is a great price for a very good lens.

Everyone needs a 50mm prime. This was the first prime I purchased for my Canon and it continues to be one of the most used. It is tack sharp even in quite low light. Leave your flash off and make use of the 1.8f.
