these suck, unless you're using them consistently the ink dries out and clogs the jets and are impossible to clean no matter what you do making the printer fit for the garbage and if you use a printer consistently you'd be better served than spending 70 on a printer in the first place......otherwise when it did work i was fairly happy with it, but i went through 2 of them in two years becuase if they sit for more than a month or two they will have problems.

as someone who already owns it(got it last year for 75 at B&H) don't but it. Any money saved upfront is immediately lost the moment you have to re-up on ink and realize its the same 75 bucks. Maybe even more.

I find the use of the term "mobile" in the title very misleading. Mobile implies that the device is mobile and you can take it anywhere and print, i.e. it has an internal power source. the fact that "mobile" devices can print to it is like bragging a plane can use air to fly..

KestrelXQuite right! And the fact that you still need a wifi connection and a 110v power outlet kind of takes the fun out of things. Certainly a mobile hot-spot or a phone can provide the wifi, but plugs are not synonymous with the term "portable." I see there is mention of bluetooth but I don't see that as a solution. The fact that they don't play nice with Macs or IOS devices means I'll just have to wait for Apple to build a printer into my next iPhone--or watch ;- )

RayFEDIT: Now I see why - looking closer at Canon's MX922 specifications, it specifically calls out a range of OS X versions that ends at 10.9. Disappointing. I run 10.12.6, and my kid runs 10.13 just fine, but you're right - it's kind of a red flag that there may not be longevity in this product for Mac users. ---------- RayF, why do you say they don't play nice? Curious what you are experiencing. I run an all-Apple household, and have no issues printing or scanning from MacOS or iOS (or even the web via Google Cloud Print). I've been surprised by how well the MX92x devices play.

Bought one of these at a steal out a price of about $60-70 and it's been a pretty good printer. I've since replaced it with a tabloid sized laser printer for primary use, but still use this to scan, copy, and for the occasional photo printing task. That said I bought mine about 5 years ago... So I have a hard time believing that it's still a good deal at this price now.

The sole purpose of an ink-jet printer is to sell ink. On the other hand, if you buy a cow instead, you get gallons of more or less, free milk, plenty of cow shit (which arguably has some use), and most likely, some meat down the road. With an ink-jet printer, you end up buying gallons of very expensive ink, and a printer that will very quickly turn to shit and end up in the garbage down the road. Save your money and buy the cow ;- )

inmytaxiFeta? Sure on pizza I imagine. How about Pecorino Romano? Been using that in some pasta dishes recently. Imagine my surprise when I learned it's actually SHEEP cheese! Who the hell milks sheep for a living? Evidently somebody does. By the way, it's good (on pasta) and costs plenty. So maybe a goat and some sheep too? And don't call me dude!

I had one of these previous models and it just died on me(won't power on) and looked around to get it replaced soley on the fact I had some of the ink cartridges still and their scanning software worked well, especially combining multiple PDFs into one. Then I looked at it before I bought it. This version is cheaper than the previous version and it feels like it. The ADF and lid are made of flimsy plastic material and the reviews have gone hill since they started making their printers more 'cost effective' aka cheaper. I didn't end of up getting a canon.

Canon dropped all support for the OSX operating system for their Pixma printers. No reason given, not open to reconsider. Don’t buy Canon if you’re a Mac user. You’ll be Sorreeeee!!

jaleonard3Can you blame them? Continuing ongoing support for a declining OS as far as market share (what's OSX now? below 5% globally?) doesn't make sense.

KestrelXOh, you're now you're really sounding like a bitter windoze boy! I remember hearing that same tune back in the early nineties, before Steve Jobs came back--"oh Apple will never replace Microsoft!" Yeah, and then Apple became the largest company in the known universe--not because their OS became more dominant than Microsoft's, but because they create and build stuff people want--lots more than they want somebody else's stuff! Trust me, it's entirely possible to live a full life without ever touching a windoze-based computer, an Android phone, or a Google Chrome anything. And I'm enjoy'n the shit out of that fact, every single day ;- )

This is a shit printer, won't print or scan even if one ink cartridge is empty. Stops working after a year. I threw this in garbage after a year of using it. Buyer beware. I've wasted time and money on this. Better to use some online printing service.

djsmanJust want to point out that this WILL scan if there's no ink. I do it all the time. I use this as my work SCANNER. It's not a good printer (no inkjet is IMHO, ink runs out WAY too fast in all of them) but as a scanner, the thing is perfect. You just hit the button, it scans, and then creates the file that you just drag into your email. I wish they just made it as a scanner. On that note, I ALSO agree with others that this is NOT a deal. I think I got mine for $90 CANADIAN a couple of years ago. Just wait for a good sale if you want this...Black Friday this thing should be $5.

Sorry, this is not a deal. These regularly drop to $50 - especially with Black Friday not far off. Perfectly decent machines - like all inkjets they eat ink but good scanner for the money (which is all I use the two I have for - one of which was $30 from Microcenter last Xmas),
