This printer is a PITA if you use DHCP and Google Cloud Print (if you have Chromebooks in your household). My wife has to restart everything daily to get our Chromebooks to see the Pixma. We've had this printer since 2014, when it cost $95 on Amazon. These days it regularly goes for about $75ish.
I sort of agree with this - though honestly Cloud Print is most of the problem (ironically more so with Chromebook - than the PCs in our household). I see the same behavior with our Dell Laser which is supposed to be CP enabled too. Shame, great concept and brilliant when it is working - which it does for months, then screws itself up and there are weeks of it not working, resharing, restarting, etc - then magically works for months again. It really is mostly CP - or many, many CP enabled printers as I have 7 between office and home, representing 4 manufacturers (Canon, Dell, HP and Samsung).
