I got my keycaps today! Thanks! Did anyone order the Text Bauhaus for XDA Canvas Round 2? It looks like my bag was missing some keys, like the 1u Alt & Ctrl, 1.5 Escape, a 1.25 Delete key, and 1 of the 4 Shift keys? I was wondering if that is normal? Thanks.

Xircuits1Same thing. Missing 5 keys: 1.5U Escape+Delete, 1U ctrl+Alt, 2U Shift. So frustrating, I badly need 1.5U Escape+Delete since it suppose to be mounted on Vortex Race 3. I hope the CS will resolve this issue ASAP.

I'll receive my text bauhaus set in about two weeks, since drop not shipping to my country and i have to use mail forwarding service. It seems like my set will miss same keys, and I badly need them, especially 1U ctrl and alt

According to them, there is a limited quantity of the Text Bauhaus, but they would be happy to send me a replacement order after I send the original back to them using their prepaid shipping label. I confirmed my address and so far, have not heard back from them. That was this past Friday/Saturday, about 4 days ago.

Xircuits1I think you'll receive exactly same set in replacement. After quick surfing it seems that mentioned keys were added to text bauhaus set in round 3. Link on recap page leads to unified xda canvas drop page, which was used in r1, r2 and r3 drops. So, there are images for r3 sets. If you go to discussions tab on that page, you'll see MiTo's post regarding round 3 changes. Quote: "Expanded Bauhaus coverage, including Vortexgear’s Race 3". Thus, there is confusion regarding xda canvas sets content. Drop should list exact content for every set and round on recap instead of linking to pages with irrelevant images. Very frustrating situation :(

thorgnirCheckout images showed exactly what you would receive in each kit. We will draw attention to this next time, but adequate information to make an informed purchase was available. We have always included checkout images that correspond to each kit.

Why would I check tiny Checkout images??? I got all answers by the link from re-cap. Poor excuse. With drop like this, you usually do research before it's available and act damn fast when it's live... There's at least no time for checking images at the checkout and it totally doesn't make sense. You must've written in the checkout page "Check the images before placing the order!!!" then. Ridiculous.

Xircuits1You won't receive a proper kit. They are not willing to admit their fault and don't accept the return for the all XDA Canvas kits. The all XDA Canvas kits is totally useless for me w/out those buttons since it was intended for Vortex Race 3. Poor customer support, they offer me $24 back for this kit only instead of full refund for all kits which I'm unable to use. Thank you very much DROP.

Again - this is ridiculous. I don't have to check the images on the checkout. I checked them on the product page. Posting a proper description and links to the real product would help avoid situations like this. Period

radmedov@Elbert Checking on the rest of the forum, I see that a few others posted regarding the links and images not matching what they received. You know what would be helpful in the future? If there was a separate page for the different rounds with their respective images.

radmedovI'm sorry you feel that way. Links to the real product will not always be accurate because we recycle product pages so that pertinent discussion from previous rounds remains on the page. I'm telling you that checkout images show you exactly what you get. If you choose to ignore that, then there's not much I can do for you.

Xircuits1It would help for situations such as this, but we recycle the product page so that the discussion section remains the same. A new page for each round would mean that the discussion is separate for each round. It's unfortunate that there are tradeoffs, with this being one of them.

With each new round you can have a stickied post with the link to the originals. If you refer to the originals, there should be a link to the original with it. I've seen this done on many of these Drops. The way it is now is just not intuitive for your paying customers.

Xircuits1Thanks for your feedback. We'll see what we can do. If we decide to continue to recycle pages, would you prefer that we do not link any pages in the discussion post for Re-Cap? Then, nobody would be able to claim we were being misleading at the expense of providing less information. Checkout images have always been provided for Re-Cap and will continue to be there.

ok, you are recycling pages, and kits on linked page are not relevant to kits that you are selling now. How would I know that? I'm new to this hobby, first time buying something on this site. I didn't know that kit contents was changed in round 3 and image on linked product page can be irrelevant. And of course I didn't know that I must quickly examine tiny image on checkout page, when kit can be sold out any moment. If you don't want to list appropriate sets on recap itself, at least you can write warning about images on checkout page.

thorgnirFair point. But, to be fair, the Re-Cap page is prelaunched (viewable on our site) a couple days before it goes live. There was time to visit each product page and read the discussions posts that outlined any changes. I understand that that isn't a reasonable expectation for us to have of you, but the opportunity was there. So, consider this a lesson learned for us and I'm sorry you had a poor experience. In the future, we'll be more explicit about where you can fine accurate information on what exactly you are buying. Thanks for your feedback.

You should be giving your customers as much information as possible. Continue to include the checkout images, but also include the links to the proper images to the Rounds you are selling in a stickied/permanent post at the very top.

Ok, let's see: XDA Canvas product page. Yes, there is MiTo's post in discussions. Quote about Bauhaus kits: "Expanded Bauhaus coverage, including Vortexgear’s Race 3". It doesn't say exactly, which keys were added. Personally, I don't know which keys are needed to cover Vortex Race 3, and which of them were absent in round 1 and 2. It doesn't say, were 1u ctrl and alt keys (I need them to cover my 65% keyboard) in round 1 and 2 or they weren't. I must read ALL comments on linked page discussion to decide which kits I need? There are about 1500 posts and 5.3k comments in total. And I'm not sure that I can find exact answer there. So, I bought alphas + text modifiers + text bauhaus + keyluminatti kits, and I don't have 1u ctrl + alt keys. Ok, I'll install other keys instead of them, with inappropriate legends, thank god XDA is not sculpted profile. I spent 140+ dollars to buy set and have to use it with mismatching legends. Major part of mechkeyboards hobby is about esthetics. Expensive keycaps are all about it. Using mismatching legends ruins esthetics from my point of view. If there was clear information regarding set contents - I guess I'd spent few bucks more to buy text hobbyist kit additionally (or instead of text bauhaus).

Xircuits1Also missing the 1u Alt & Ctrl in the Text Bauhaus :( Very disappointing. I'm using the "hack" and "code" keys as placeholders until I can figure out something better... I'm not about to return these keycaps as I've been holding out for the Canvas for quite a while now

Xircuits1Ideally, yes. But as it stands, the pages are recycled and I don't see that changing anytime soon. I'm sorry. For now, the checkout images are the only thing I can point to where you can check the kit contents with absolute certainty that they are accurate. @thorgnir I'm sorry your experience was subpar. We'll do better next time. But I don't think it's fair for us to take all of the blame. A certain amount of due diligence should be expected of customers, but where that line is drawn is at times difficult to determine. The Re-Cap was conceived years ago and didn't have quite the scope it has today. The community has grown immensely and demand with it, leading to scenarios where people rush through checkout for fear of not getting the kits they want and overlooking the checkout images. The good news, however, is that XDA Canvas comes back with regularity and you will be able to pick up the keycaps you are missing without worrying about it selling out or getting the wrong thing.

Why can't you post the correct images in the ReCap Overview? There are soo many ways that all this can work and you can keep your original model. Just keep adding to your current display model.

The best is to provide an accurate description and show accurate images of the product. Also, it would be great if you guys will think about how to make all affected buyers happy and don't lose the trust. For now, you're only defending yourself which not a good buying experience for us, buyers. $24 of refund doesn't give me the ability to mount all kits I bought on my keyboard. I was waiting almost a month for nothing, to be stuck with useless kits I'm unable to use. I suggested the way to resolve it - it's to send me/sell Text Ortho kit. In that case I will be able to use all the kits on my Lily58 Pro. You guys refused. Poor experience.

The text at the bottom of the product page did say that the sales are final, but we still look at every case and try to make it better. Again, I'm sorry your experience was poor. We'll do better. However, I looked at your ticket and your "suggestion" was actually a demand, and unfortunately, it doesn't work that way.

The demand was about a full refund. And it was a demand since I was forced asking for this several times. About Ortho Text it was a suggestion. Here's the exact text what I send: "There’s one more way to resolve it.  If you send me XDA Canvas TEXT ORTHO kit I would be able to mount all this kits to my Lily58 Pro keyboard.  In that case I can leave all these kits and use them.  Otherwise it doesn’t make sense since I’m unable to mount it anywhere. That seems to be fair. Please let me know." It doesn't look as a demand.

I spent nearly $200 on these kits, waited a month. And I don't want to return it. Really. I want to mount it on my keyboard. But I'm just unable to use it. I was more exited to get this set than new top tier iPhone coming to me this week...

radmedovI do understand, but just because you demand or ask for something doesn't mean we can or will automatically do it. What I find frustrating is that when presented with information that clarified that you did indeed have access to the checkout images that showed exactly what you would get (but simply overlooked), you were dismissive of it. "It's totally [Drop's] fault," you said. The partial refund of that single kit was meant as a gesture of goodwill to meet you somewhere in between. I'm sorry if you feel it was insufficient, but this isn't a case where we sent the wrong item.

radmedovWe don't have any more Text Ortho kits from any round in inventory. I can't send or sell you one. That's the truth. XDA Canvas will return at some point - that I can promise. You will be able to acquire the keys you are missing.

Well, yes I understand that it will return. But no guarantee I will want it at that some point. I'm not going to die by loosing $200. It's just about the taste in the mouth. And worst that CS guy went ahead and decided w/out me how we're going to resolve it by returning $24. Poor customer support.

CS staff member answered me and asked for pictures of kits i bought, and I will be happy to provide them asap when I'll be able to do this, but pictures wont change anything, I think, since the issue isn't about miscomplectation.
