The adjustment mechanism remembers your dimensions, so there’s no extra work each time you put the belt on. For the first wear (or any weight changes later on), turn the rotor counter-clockwise, slide the strap to where you like it, and re-tighten. No more inaccurate belt holes, no more guesswork. Plus, the tail of the Cipher tucks neatly underneath the rest of the belt for a streamlined silhouette with every wear.
