Almost Perfect
The only thing this box cutter is missing is a pocket clip. At my office carrying a knife is a fireable offense, so I needed something to keep with me to open boxes when doing receiving. This blade is light, easy to use one handed, and almost effortless to swap the blade. All it needs is a pocket clip and itll be a 5 star rating.

Good size but the lock up needs to be more positive
The size and anodized finish is great. I wanted something small for opening boxes or other small cutting tasks without ruining the edge on my knife. Saving me time having to resharpen it all the time. Aluminum is fine and keeps the cost down. I do not see it wearing out either way. The big problem is latch is not very positive. It does not take much force to disengage it in a closed or open position. If you have this in a pocket it has a good chance of opening on you. I found that if I slide a heavy piece of paper or card stock in on the blade side it tights up the fit and keeps it from rattling. It also seems to helps it from being so easy to open in your pocket.

Safety and design issues
I’ve been looking for a good compact knife that has easily replaceable blades and this knife seemed to fit the bill. I went in with eyes wide open knowing full well that it is made of aluminum instead of titanium (as the name would suggest) so I don’t dock it points for that.   My first impression of the knife upon opening it was that it was rattling. I found that the inner slide that holds the blade is not secured very tightly in the outer shell, hence the ratting. This on its own would not have dropped the rating of the product by too much, however the locking mechanism is also quite failure prone. As mentioned by others, the locking part of the knife is not very secure and has the tendency, especially in a pocket, to be depressed enough for the blade to stick out. In my experience so far, the blade has only ever protruded from the outer shell a small amount. Unfortunately that is enough for the sharp tip of the blade to prick a finger when reaching for it, or a leg when simply having it loose in your pocket.  So in the end, I love the idea, but the execution leaves much to be desired. My search for the perfect mini utility knife continues.

Nope. Unsafe in pocket.
I totally agree with HikingMano's review here. I was a little concerned that the blade carrier could be extracted in both directions, but figured maybe there was a reason behind it, so no biggie. However, this morning, I dropped the CLOSED tool into the front pocket of my pants (as I've done every day for the last couple weeks) along with my thin wallet and when I reached into my pocket a few minutes later, my fingertip met the sharp tip of the blade. I carefully extracted the tool from my pocket, threw it on my desk, and switched back to my Gerber EAB Lite (which I don't like because it of the tool-requiring blade change, but I do like because it doesn't open in my pocket!). If I'd been wrestling or doing yardwork or something this morning, sure, my bad, but I literally walked to/from the kitchen and sat down at my desk. Not cool. Either make the blade button much firmer or stop selling this unsafe tool. No way I'd recommend this item to anyone.

Mike- a couple weeks ago, I emailed you to let you know that I received the two replacement springs you sent me (a gold one and a black one) and that I compared the springiness/resistance of those to the original black slider. As I mentioned in that email, the new black spring seems identical to my original black spring. The gold spring is perhaps a little bit stiffer, but either way, I remain afraid that none of those are going to create a knife that is safe enough for me to carry in my front pocket without worrying that an incompatible sitting arrangement will depress the button and cause the blade/slider to shift out of hiding. I didn't get a reply to my email or to a follow-up email I sent a week or so ago, so I assume that there's not a knife/spring arrangement you currently have that will work for me at this time. For anyone looking for a utility knife that's safer, I bought a Quark Tool Carbon and so far, so good. A downside is that it's a two-handed open, but the upside is that I can't envision a situation in which it will ever open accidentally in my pocket (or elsewhere), so it's now my become my fifth-pocket EDC utility knife. Great idea, needs improvement for safety.
It's rare that I leave a review, but this product, while great in concept, is executed extremely poorly. I would NEVER carry this in my pocket, and I wouldn't even reach for this first where I have relegated it to counter duty. My primary complaint is to safety. There is essentially no detent in this; the blade can be popped out with minimal accidental pressure on the button. Even when purposefully depressing the button and deploying the blade, employing the normal speed and pressure one normally would when grabbing a tool of this sort for quick use, I unwittingly popped the entire blade and mount out of the body and right towards my bare feet. Furthermore, I would have appreciated a backstop. There's no reason why you need to extract the blade/mount in both directions. Tolerances are poor and there is quite a bit of rattle when the blade is extended or during actuation. Again, great idea, poor execution. Hope you find this criticism constructive, Carbon Tactics. 09FEB2020 edit: Review title edited to reflect review more accurately. Also, CarbonTactics has strengthened springs and will exchange my unit. Star added for customer service. Will update review when received. 14FEB20 edit: Carbon Tactics sent me a couple new sliders to replace my loose original one. Of the two that I was sent, the gold one pictured below is much stiffer than the original black slider I had and even stiffer than the replacement black slider they provided. The gold one feels a bit heavier, and looks a slight bit thicker as well, which probably helps with the added stiffness. I added a fob to the key ring hole, since they informed me that most people put it on a keychain and that serves as the backstop. Works great. While it’s still possible to accidentally slide the blade out even with the new slider, it feels much less likely to do so when pocket carrying without too much in the pocket. I have more confidence in the safety now. So, I’ll bump my rating up to 4. Not quite perfect for me, but not bad with stiffer spring. Pictured below with RUK, which I’m thinking will still get majority of pocket time.
