Mine came in today and I thought I was going to swap out my 1965 for it but after looking at them side by side, I like the 1965 better. I'll be saving these for a different, yet unpurchased 60% fully programmable kbd. :)
I like the Carbon over the 1965(But what can you expect since this is a Carbon thread). You have a clever set up of your Carbon with the number row,and makes it look modern. The 1965 is nice but the alphas looked like someone smoked a cigarette while typing and has turned the keys yellow over time (I suppose this would reflect the nostalgia of that time period since a lot of people smoke back then).
Yeah, I like the alt colors on the num row and that was what pushed me over the hump on deciding to order this set. You can see, I run F keys in on my numbers otherwise. I don't know why more kits don't come with this option considering the popularity of 60~65% kbds these days.
The 1965 are not quite as yellow as they look in this pic but they are yellow. The first thing I thought when I saw them was vintage guitar plastic that was white when new back in the fifties and sixties and has since turned yellow.
That's why I love this, there is literally something for everyone, no matter your taste, we all just have to wait to see what comes along. :)
