MD: I just was adjusting my order to go with the Planck mod kit and I noticed the pricing is not right. If I am not mistaken the base kit is $79.99 + Planck Mod $33.00 = $112.99 but I am seeing $126.98. How can this be corrected?
The pricing structure is confusing for these drops. The Mod isn't $33.00, but is the base kit price ($79.99) minus $33.00, for an actual price of $46.99.
Wow but the cart system is adding. This is one of the edge cases that MD just did not account for. MD, as a web developer I totally understand edge cases. I am guessing these pricing issues will get worked out when the drop ends though.
I don't think that's a bug. 79.99 + (79.99 - 33.00) = 126.98
Interesting. This pricing system is messed up.
If I am putting a Planck keyboard together then I don't need the base kit?
The pricing is weird, but it is calculating correct.
1 unit of anything is calculated relative to the base kit price.
It's the weird way that Massdrop can only have 1 overall price per drop and all the options if they are a different price are Discounted or Increased to bring their price down/up from the base price.
You need the base kit and the planck/atomic kit to do a complete Planck keyboard.
Alternatively, if you like orange keys, you can get the orange kit instead of the base kit, since all you need to complete a Planck kit is the alphas.
Yes, but you will need the alphas (orange) unless you have a SA set of alphas already.
Ah OK. Seems like such a waste of key caps.
There are two ways to get planck keyboard covered:
- Base kit + planck kit (for beige alphas)
- Orange Alphas + planck kit (for orange alphas)
