12 days ago amazon delivered these in-ears to me. I paid $179.00 which is a great deal. Until now that is... oh well you win some and lose some. Now on to the phone. Superb, flawless sound for the audiophile... abundant bass is there when in the music but bassheads need not apply. Focus is on a balanced sound rather than sterile, ruthless neutrality or 'enhanced' focus on a particular part of the frequency spectrum. I suspect they MIGHT be a great match with the new Massdrop x THX AAA™ 789 amp balancing that amp's reported detail with the Cardas' even handedness. The only 'flaw' is the Cardas' cord, a bit long and just a bit stiff. Semi susceptible to microphonics, the cord clip really helps with this. Nothing that can't be neutralized but you have to arrange the cord to minimize that susceptibility. Unfortunately, the cords are not removeable. Cardas has a different, excellent cord on its A8 model and I suspect they're getting ready to introduce an updated EM5813. IF so, they're flushing out inventory by dropping the price to near cost.
