So, like many people, ive always been the type to just buy a cheap pair of sunglasses from the rack at the store. They always felt cheap, the easily broke, and they looked ugly most of the time. And half the time they didnt really work all that well.
I decided to step up my game and bought some from amazon and was a little disappointed to find that some highly reviewed headphones really werent that much better than cheap crap from the store. But at least they worked at blocking the sun.
Then i got these and i must say. Its like getting premium headphones, there is just a night and day difference in build quality. The little rubber sun guards around the side do a great job of blocking out the sun from those sneaky spots. The glasses themselves do a good job of reducing the sun in your eyes. And man the build quality is just nice. They feel very sturdy and have been a great pair to wear while out and about.
Style wise... im not very good with style so meh.
I wear these at work where I have a high probability of breaking/losing them but I like having a pair of polarized sunglasses that didn't break the bank. So far I enjoy them and have gotten several compliments on them. My only knock on the glasses are that they are just a little big for my face/head. If I had a choice in size I would probably go smaller.
Reminds me of a pair of Magnum PI sun glasses, circa 1980s. Build is good and they look great if you're into a vintage vibe. No distortions in the lenses, and dark enough for bright sunlight but I wish it had better optical coatings to nix reflections (bright objects are faintly mirrored on the interior of the lens). Maybe a larger plastic shirt might help. These are big—wide—glasses so not for everybody. I have a really round and big head and the width is perfect for me.
I don't get as much coverage from the side rubber piece as I had hoped. The glasses are pretty comfortable to wear. I'm using this pair as my driving sunglasses.
slingsNArrowsEverybody has a different size and shape head and face. So for glasses to fit, you need to adjust the arms and nose pads to fit your face. It's rare to have any off the rack glasses fit my big round head. Any optical shop can do it for you: requires heating the arm and subsequently bending to fit your ears and head contour. Takes about 5 minutes.
Coolest glasses you can get for the price.
They fit my face perfectly. It made me realize my daily Persol's weren't wide enough for my face.
The black, tinted lens is very dark.
The "rubber shields" on the sides accent the glasses in a nice and subtle way, not too noticeable of you're standing a few feet away.
I was worried they might look too out-there with the sidewalls ("rubber shields"), but the whole design looks really good in person.
PiopioYeah mine had those gaps too. I did not initially notice them but once I did I was worried that they ear pieces were going to eventually slip off but they haven't moved so I'm assuming they came like this
