The Cavin C5 truly bring out the best from my HiFiman phones, I was very impressed from the start and am still blown away with every listen. The next best thing to listening at home when traveling.

Great Bang for the price!!!
I've read reviews here and on Amazon, most were very good. There were a few that may have had bad units, my unit is flawless. Purchased through MassDrop a few yrs back, they still work great and am amazed how they push my headphones. People complain about battery life, I've used mine all day, no problem. To me, this a great little unit and I can't listen to my music without it.....

Battery life is pretty bad. Using it with my HD650s, and it drives them decently well. Starts to clip and distort at higher volumes. I just use it as a desktop DAC/Amp now and have it constantly charging. Should have just bought a Schiit Fulla for the money.

I really loved this amp....when it worked. About 6 weeks after purchase it started cutting out, then coming back, then cutting out again. Listening to a favorite piece on and off is not an enjoyable experience. Massdrop only covers it for 30 days and Cayin won’t cover it at all. Well, it was nice while it lasted.

This is the worst item I have purchased from MD. The battery loses it's charge quickly if not used making it unreliable at best and close to useless at worst for travel. The dials are fiddly and confusing. The sound quality through both my Sony and Bose headphones is nothing special. I have already replaced this item with a Fiio!

Bought 2, one of them broke
These are good. I do find them very punchy. They will drive your headphones, but they seem to overpower the headphones. As in the title, I had bought 2. One for my brother and myself. And one of them, a switch that toggles between DAC and AUX/CHG broke. It doesn't switch back forth. Hard to say if it's the luck of the draw or poor quality control as we have one that so far is functioning fine and the other, a broken switch. Recommendation is difficult, I don't hate them, but the 1 out of 2 working fine gets to me. Color me biased.

Feels and sounds cheap, battery feels like a timer more than a charge.

Battery doesn’t hold a charge; sound mediocre; chi-fi Russian roulette fail.
