Alpha & Delta MK 2 USB-C and Lightning DAC Adapters
I bought this DAC from DROP in a previous deal. Everything works great except one detail:
The DAC can only support up to 24 bit width on both Windows and Mac.
I contacted Cayin and they clearly had no idea what I was talking about.
They claimed that 32 bit will be enabled with a firmware upgrade.
But this DAC does not even support upgrade. :(
I just received this DAC. It sounds marvelous. But it can't reach the full spec described here.
On windows, I can only get 16 or 24 bits and up to 384khz through USB.
On Mac, I can only get 16 or 24 bits and up to 768khz through USB.
I can let go the 384khz only on windows issue. But I really wanted the DAC to support 32 bits. I already updated the driver on windows to latest 5.57 and no driver was provided for Mac. I also tried uninstall the device and reinstall it back. But to no avail. Anyone has similar issues?
In the Picture its a 220 volt model...
In the specs nothing....and now after many questions its only a 110 volt model...!!! 😳
what a nonsense to make it not switchable also to 220 Volt !
Many people are now not buying this DAC
and if DROP is just for the American Market i am signing off...
Oh wow! I miss this amp. I bought it used for $600 but I sold it to get something new. I think this is probably one of the best/versatile DACs out there since it has tube mode. It’s a cheaper version of the iFi iDSD which costs a lot more.
Headfonics review of the iDAC-6 MK2
https://headfonics.com/cayin-idac-6-mk2-review/
"Implementation is key, they say, but rarely at this price point is it as expressively demonstrated as it is with the iDAC-6 MK2. This is not a neutral sound, it is not analytical, but rather natural, slightly weighted, and very listenable. In doing so, it has also changed the character of the iHA-6 for the better in that i-Series stack."
Marcus22687I have the iHA-6 amp and would have jumped at this had it been available in 220V.
Would love to hear how it "changed the character of the iHA-6 for the better" considering how damn good it sounds already.
