Hard to imagine anyone is actually falling for the "Russian" angle on these watches. Yes, once upon a time some Russians made watches in a Russian factory using SLAVA movements (many of which were copied from designs stolen from Western countries, especially Germany which the Soviets "annexed" (occupied) after WWII. In other words, it ain't like they actually invented anything, or made any significant contributions to the world horology. So if we didn’t trust those commie-rats during the Cold War, why should we trust them now? And don't get me started about that poor dog they shot up into space!

Meanwhile, Kitschey-Russkie marketing schtick aside, the parent company of CCCPTime has little if anything to do with Mother Russia or the not so fabled Slava watch works. Instead this company makes its home in Hong Kong (not Saint Petersburg), and they're just selling you another Chinese watch. It might tick with a Russian accent, but that's as far as it goes, comrade! https://www.ablogtowatch.com/cccp-heritage-watch-review/

RayFDon't know why they're shilling these watches, Anyone can get a Vostok for 2/3 the cost that's actually still manufactured in Russia and has heritage as opposed to the CCCP zombie brand. This model even looks just like the Vostok GMT watches with the sub-dial.

MedicalSmokerI had to check out Vostok after seeing this comment- a brand worth exploring, for sure. Unusual designs and actual history behind the company, not just co-opting Soviet aesthetics.
