Faust3Dtheres a lot of nazi era antiques that go for a lot of money...
MananaMantheres a lot of nazi era antiques that go for a lot of money... and which are disgusting to own. The comparison of nazis to the USSR is difficult. People certainly died in the Soviet Union. But it wasn't the deliberate policy of extermination that the nazis followed. More a bunch of bad planning, pogroms of dissidents (being killed for not falling in line is almost worse), and then for some strange reason lots of people lump in the casualties from the great patriotic war. You know, the war where the Soviets defeated the nazis while the allies kept them pinned down on the western front. They lost tens of millions on their end. 15% of their population. That's horrific, but you know, they eventually fought off a land and air invasion by nazis after the abrogation of the non-aggression pact. Who else can boast the same?
Have you ever actualy read a history book, or do you merely base your opinions on what someone tells you on TeeVee?

CalaverasgrandeI agree the comparison to the nazi's is difficult but they slaughtered a few million of Ukranians and Poles. Well f#@ked history aside, I do like the design of this watch. Aesthetically pleasing for me. But I guess it's all subjective.

CalaverasgrandeMao is still the all time leader - 50 million+ during The Great Leap Forward. Stalin usually gets credit for 35-40 million, mostly Ukrainians. Partially planned, as Stalin halted food shipments, and partially due to a bad crop season.
Watchyoutalkingaboutthis is what I'm talking about. I don't like Mao or Stalin, for starters. But adding in people who died from famine to make their numbers worse than the nazi death count is just cherry picking. I don't blame you of course. This is something that has been floating around the web for decades. The Marxist blunders are well documented and terrible. The marxist atrocities against their own people are as well. And they are numerous. Slaughtering the Makhnoists right after they had helped defeat the white Russians for instance. Besides if we are going to add central planning disasters to communisms body count. We have to do the same for capitalism's magic hand of the free market. All the mid east petrodollar wars, Bhopal India, Death Squads in South and Central America etc. It really gets way too subjective and complicated. It's better to just stick to the stuff where they actually rounded up Cossacks, or Uighurs etc. No shortage of that. The damn shame is that the Russian constructivist art movement was pretty well limited to Russia. So if you are a fan of that, the way some are a fan of the Bauhaus, you kind of have to take your licks.

CalaverasgrandeTo paraphrase one of them, history is written by the victors. The numbers are horrific even if you lop off a zero.

Calaverasgrandeit's absolutely mind boggling how little you know about actual history. let me guess, you're an american who has read a bit of wikipedia and now thinks he's an authority on the subject. you're 3 times as clueless as the people you accused of not reading history books. not to mentions your assertions that not attributing the deaths of famine caused by the policies of an individual who meant to do exactly that are about as idiotic as saying that the deaths in Hiroshima and Nagasaki can't be attributed to Truman 'cause the bombs did the killing, not the president who actually ordered the bombs being dropped. your stupidity is as vast as the universe itself
raestplease indicate where I am incorrect, instead of resorting to insults. Which is the tactic of someone who disagrees but cannot rebut.
