The Kashalot, for which this watch is named, was a single-hull submarine that entered service toward the end of the Soviet era in 1988. Absent of lugs, this watch is built from a single hull as well—and it’s not too shabby in the water, either Read More
I liked it a lot! I think it is a nice piece to begin a conversation. It is well made I guess, exactly what I would expect from a “soviet” tech, to feel rough and durable.
I think the design is pretty cool, black & gold and not another homage of Seikos or Rolexes. The exhibition case back comes with a pretty unique red crystal. Not a diver though, only 10 ATM WR.
Movement wise, I do hope the Slava keeps going & going. I hate that the date adjustment can only be done manually by turning the hands simulating a 24h cicle. I’d be better not to have it, it’s a very annoying “complication” if you know what I mean!
The strap is ok, kind of rustic leather and it might be a little difficult to find a replacement. Lume is fine...bezel motion is fine.
I couldn’t find much about CCCP, I believe it’s a HK based company.
For $99 it rocks! I wouldn't pay more than 200 USD for this; very pleased with Drop.
The watch is a good size. The band is fairly flexible right out of the package - that is good. The fit is good. The down side to this watch is the accuracy. On a brand-new fresh out of the package watch I would expect that the accuracy would be better. My watch gains 30 seconds an hour. Every hour. I will have to go through the exercise of opening it up to recalibrate the mechanism. I don't think I should have to do that on a new watch. I know that this will be a chore but figure that it will prove less onerous than going through a return. Probably will not buy another watch from this brand.
For the price I like this watch. The only problem is :- How do you replace the watchband?????? I have 9 1/2 inch wrists and 95% of watches need a replacement strap/band!!!!!!!!!! Also there seems to be only two positions for the crown, fully in winds the watch and fully out sets the time. Instruction booklet shows a third for date setting???
Looks good , has a really easy to read dial as well.
Arrived in good condition , started right up after a wind and has kept good time for the last 2 days .
I will do a review in a few weeks .

Oh yes one thing the leather strap is beautiful !!! so soft for a new one and I have never felt a leather strap as soft from new ,, well done CCCP what ever you do to condition them ,
I like the heft and the color of this watch. The satellite theme, the leather strap and the chunky crown are all appealing and so far it has kept good time. The drawback for me has been the bezel. It is made of some cheap plastic. It is loose with play and is imprecise in its positioning, so it tends to move whether you want it to or not. If you can overlook this, it’s a decent piece.
bearheartReceived help from drop today. Sent me a pre-paid return shipping label. Getting a full refund. I really wanted to lkke the CCCP brand...maybe next time.
