Designed and turned by hand on a manual lathe, these tops are handmade from a bar of solid copper. They feature a unique ribbed handle and, compared with other C.D. Peterson-designed tops, a darker patina. Weighing in at less than an ounce, each top is portable and can easily be thrown into a pocket on the go. With a new, slightly larger 3/32-inch ceramic bearing, they deliver spin times over 7 minutes with a little practice and a hard spinning surface. Because each top is finished by hand, no two are exactly alike.
Note: This drop is limited to 100 units. As these tops will be hand-made to order for the group, please allow 4 to 6 weeks for shipping. Photos below show the original 1/16-inch bearing; the updated versions being offered on this drop will have a slightly larger 3/32-inch bearing.
Always fond of mechanical engineering and working with his hands, C.D. Peterson turned his passion into his profession in 2011 when he started his business on Etsy. After beginning small production on wood and antler rings, he gradually expanded his range and started a full-fledged outfit. Peterson now specializes in rings, spinning tops, and small keychain curios made from metal, bone, stone, composites, and more.
