theskymoves"Everyone thinks that way" makes me question more than it convinces me. "Everyone" thought the world was flat at one point. Hell take a look at what "everyone" in the media thinks nowadays. Fahrenheit has smaller degrees than Celsius allowing for more than twice the accuracy before adding decimals.
This is the same Imperial vs. Metric argument as is always had: Imperial was and is for ease of use and calculation, while metric was for ease of documentation and is for people who only use a ruler and beakers. Metric is great if you're just converting distance units, but get into more complicated fluid flow calculations and you want a system that has units created to perfectly cancel out for easier calculation and are designed to be similar to a known heuristic. Base 10 is great for changing centimeters to millimeters. Does base 10 have as many factors as base 3/4 numbers though? Isn't it nice to be able to divide into parts without going to decimals? Imperial is arbitrary you say? "The King's foot!" you say. Do you know what a kilogram is based on? How about a meter?

RosaLuxemburgYou present an interesting argument, though I'm not quite convinced.
