If this came with the dual-material head rather than the quick-fill dual nozzle I'd probably be in at this price, but unfortunately, not this time.

There are rumors of old stock being sold on Amazon (and elsewhere?) for low prices like this. If this comes from stock that is at all new-ish (newer than 2016/2017?) then this is a great deal. There have been some upgrades since the original Kickstarter units shipped (2014?) that have greatly improved reliability. Would appreciate a note from Drop regarding the source/age of their stock.

I am wondering why this keeps showing up on here. From what I have read, this is a very unreliable printer that breaks often.

Kris_KThe fact that you were selling it at almost double the price in the first place says a lot. This is not a group discount website anymore.

How come when I’m browsing it says $700 but when I’m on the product page it says (about) $1000?

Madsssprobably because the lowest drop price is $700 (and you can commit only if the drop hits that price)

Yay my question from a month ago was answered: a 3D print drop!
Though not one I'd get... happy to see different drops coming back still.

shyBravadoYeah the proprietary "smart reel" systems are a non-starter for me.

SnargeYou can use any filament you want. The 'smart reel' just auto-identifies the filament to the software to automatically choose the correct settings, but you have full control over those settings in the software. You can also buy a 'blank' smart-reel (or re-use smart-reels from filament you've used up), wind your own filament onto it, and program it with your own settings if you're so inclined. So nothing to be particularly afraid of, in this case.
