Sure, CEntrance makes decent portable amps. But spending $130 on this unproven, all-plastic headphone would be unwise. The reason is simple: Better options exist at this price-point.For instance... With a Brainwavz pad-swap (standard pleather, Micro Suede, or Cooling Gel Suede), the ~$99 Sivga SV003 and SV006 sound absolutely superb... and are certainly more visually appealing than the 'Cerene dB'. In addition, the Sivga headphones fold flat and include a protective case and two excellent cables. This line of Sivga headphones are hidden gems gone unnoticed due to their uncomfortable, sound-hindering, stock pads.
I haven't heard the Sivga Phoenix, so I don't know if its sound justifies its $255 price. I can see it has a fancy (Sendy Aiva-like) frame and decent stock pads. But if sound, comfort, and looks matter, get the SV003 or SV006 with Brainwavz Micro - or Gel - Suede pads, installed in a couple of minutes. You can thank me later.
mattrisWe invite you to listen first, before forming your opinion. We have a lot of big name Hollywood producers loving these, they are comfortable to wear and sound very balanced. We offer a 30-day money back guarantee, so try them, you have nothing to lose! Unless of course you work for a competitor LOL ;)
CEntranceThese headphones might sound good for their price, but I don't see myself buying a pair. For one, the plastic build looks suspect, much like the ATH line.
In addition, I'm quite pleased with my pad-swapped Sivga models: each with different sound signatures, depending on the model/pad pairing.
And I wonder how "a lot of big name Hollywood producers" came to own the Cerene dB. Did they buy them at full price upon your advertisement or recommendation?
Finally, could you tell me the country in which these headphone are made? Thank you.
mattrisBetter options exist at this price-point.
You haven't heard them and you wrote aaaall of that? Why? What is the point? The Internet is bursting at the seams with logic-defying comments like yours, sprouted from the depths of sheer stupidity. Based on just their specs and pictures, you managed to just go ahead and write a huge paragraph of non-sense. Do you really not see a problem with you?
petecamachoNo, I haven't tried the Cerene dB. If I was loaned a pair, I would certainly give them a fair review... and credit if they were something truly special... sound or otherwise.
These headphones very well may sound 'good' in stock form. But with all products, they will have limitations... and are not some magical, perfectly-tuned, end-game product to make all music, movies, and games sound 'ideal', regardless of the DAC and amplifier used.
I'm happy for those that own the Cerene dB and like them. But for a whole host of reasons, they are just not for me... because I own custom modified/pad-swapped, closed-back, dynamic-driver Sivga/Lasmex headphones that sound amazing, are a pleasure to handle/use, are made of metal and wood, have classy appearances, a removable 3.5mm cable connections, the ability to fold flat, and include a travel case. The common-matte-plastic-looking Cerene dB has none of those features and is not appealing to me in the slightest. Its $130 cost would be better invested on upgrading hardware... or earpads to improve my planar-magnetic and open-back headphones.
My advice to those considering these headphones is to have a good reason to purchase them - not just that they're the lower-cost 'headphone of the month' offered on Drop, made by a company you'd like to support.
petecamachoThe guy is a troll. Don't pay mind to him. NO WAY someone who writes that type of stuff is serious. He's just stirring the pot. Look at how specific he is with the stuff. He got us. You got us, man. Good one, ha-ha! That was good! :P
raansire7Can someone be serious and 'stirring the pot'? I am.
It's a pleasure for me to inform people and make them think. Perhaps spending $130 on decent, generic-looking, plastic headphones wouldn't be the wisest decision, given what other similarly-priced headphones offer, especially with exchanged earpads.
And finally... "Look at how specific he is with the stuff." ... is the quote of the day.
mattrisI want to mention that the Brainwavz Micro Suede Oval Earpads significantly improve the comfort and sound of the ATH-M50x, most notably by reducing the perceived bass and treble.
To those who already own an M50, I'd would advise to try out this pad-swap before buying another pair of headphones with near-identical looks and build quality.
