1 ohm impedance - can somebody explain what that will gain me on a Macbook with the LX mod? Thanks in advance
If you are planning to connect another amp to the output of the DACport LX, then there is absolutely no need for 1 Ohm mod.
Can i bypass the amp on the standard DACport to another amp? Or will i end up double amping?
Not easily. So yes, you will be double amping, which is sort of unnecessary if you ask my opinion, since the amp in DACport is pretty darn good. It was on the cover of Stereophile, after all. This is to say that most people don't need the LX. Get the regular DACport and you will be very happy.
So, if I want to use this device to drive UE TF10 and Beyerdynamic T5P under a Macbook Pro, simply put, what specification of DACport is recommended? 1ohm plus LX Mod, 1ohm only, or?
1 ohm only. Do NOT get the LX.
