Works straight away on both my Linux (mix of Kubuntu 15.10 & Fedora 22) and Mac (10.10) machines.
I don't know why I'm surprised by this, but it sounds noticeably better than my FiiO E10k driving my AKG K7XXs, AKG K272HDs, and my Meelec A161Ps. The most obvious difference is the separation and staging.
On the E10k, as supremely great a value as it is, it's a common condition for the music to seem like it's coming from a mono image straight in the middle of my skull. The DACport Slim by contrast does a much better job at keeping the imaging and staging I normally enjoy on my high-end livingroom stereo setup.
It has me interested in CEntrance's other products now. I also have an SMSL SD793-II, but I haven't had a chance to compare.
My only complaint with the DACport Slim is a minor one. I wish the volume wheel were metal had a little more resistance to it like the one on the E10k.
