Sooo Slim vs HD the average listener probably won't be able to tell the difference or like what are we Slim users missing out on?
Tidal HiFi streams at 1411kbps 16-bit/44.1 kHz which is in the Slims range still so like where would the benefits of having the HD be used?
+ I don't know how many times this is going to be ignored but any updates on Windows 10 locking up freezing issues; would really like to use this without my machine freezing.

DACport HD adds 3dB more level and 384kHz/DSD capability. Depending on your music collection and your cans, this may or may not be important. Otherwise they are the same product.
Regarding Windows 10, please wait for another week or so. We are hard at work on that. Many products are affected, so we cannot wait to get this solved. Hang in there a little longer please. We won't forget you!
