hey, i just got mac dacport slim, love the form factor, so far so good, use it on my macbook air 2013 on el capitan with SE846, low gain - zero static, and on high gain, quite noticeable static sound. does get quite toasty during use, but i think that is normal for a DAC/amp. anyways, quite satisfied with my purchase, will buy again. also, i'd like to commend centrance for their answering questions here on massdrop discuss thread, was very helpful.

urghhexOh just to compare to other DAC/AMP I've used:
FiiO E10K - zero static, stay cool, no problem with windows 10 SMSL M2 - zero static, stay cool, didn't get to test it on windows 10 Schiit Fulla - yes static, gets warm during use, mostly ok but bugs out once in a long while on windows 10 UDAC-3 - zero static, stay cool, also bug out on windows 10
STATIC This depend on how much shielding the case has, thick aluminum shell generally do help with this. Also how much filtering it has against noisy USB connections. Using a shielded USB cable will fix this but it might have negative impact in sound quality.
GETS WARM I find usually small portable DAC/AMP don't dissipate heat too well, the slightly bigger ones seems to do better. Seems to be common.
WINDOWS 10 This is hit or miss, some companies seems to pull it off some doesn't. Though based on CEntrance's comments, I wonder if their driver will work on other products to fix the Windows 10 issue.

Hydethe Fulla only pick up noise if I touch the volume knob or pushing the volume level way too high up. It works just fine with my sensitive headphones without picking up any static noise at normal listening volume. But in the Dacport case the noise remain constant at low gain, now that would be a bummer for me.

HydeThis device does get hot, but the aluminum casing is quite thick and therefore seems to act as an excellent heatsink for the class a amp. Mine often becomes a very nice hand warmer as I work into the night.
I've been using the new beta driver that CEntrance has sent out to some testers and Windows 10 seems quite stable now.
I remember having a micro usb cable with a ferrite bead on it, but I'm not sure where it is now. Hopefully some cleaner power is all that's needed to fix this issue, as every headphone around me seems to be quite low-impedance.. I'm a bit doubtful though, considering that I've heard the noise floor on every computer I've tested.
