Centrance, any chance of being able to purchase the drivers separately to put in my own TL box? Not sure if the thiele small parameters are conducive to such use, but I would love to try them that way.
Just a little update after listening for a couple hours I find they sound great. Coherence of the sound strikes me most. I can get lost in the sound without any effort; I don't even have to close my eyes. Organs sound glorious! Electro tango even with its deep bass and high highs is a joy. Jazz sounds all together not as if some of it is coming out of the woofer and another part out of the tweeter. I'm finding the treble nicely balanced even if a bit directed. The deep bass can't be heard in the same way as with my T1, Westone4, or sunfire sig sub; not a surprise, this is a 4 inch speaker, not a miracle. What is surprising is just how deep the bass does go. With good alignment and volume, the nearfield is wonderful and I haven't even given them their due burn in time yet.
The amp used is rated at 6.5W (Class A single ended). I can't turn the knob past 1 o'clock without reaching the speaker's and my ear's limit(i'm about a yard/meter away). A little past 9 o'clock is good for me. This is a tube amp so it has a leg up on the voltage front, but the point is that I'm guessing that 3W RMS is enough for these little guys. They get a bit flabby sounding when close to their limit. A big amp would likely only cause distortion as it would be under utilized.
Did I mention they sound great?! For the price, I'm really impressed.
