Pretty basic cable
I can’t see how these were ever $130. Packaging consisted of a plain clear plastic bag and bubble wrap in an ordinary cardboard box. Nothing to declare that they are CEntrance. Half of the banana jacks were loose in the bag and only two were fully tightened. Not overly impressed so far sadly.

Sorry about your experience. The cables are labeled clearly on both ends. Yes, packaging is not sophisticated, because we put all the energy into the cable itself. Packaging will be discarded, but cables will continue to deliver quality sound for years to come.

So, your basing your review of speaker cables on the packaging? I'm guessing most people will be buying these for the way they sound or how they are constructed, etc. Not sure why you would give a 3 star review of a product that, apparently, you haven't even used...

tedhershIt’s a review of my experience thus far. Packaging aside, having over half the banana jacks loose in the bag wasn’t at all what I’d expected for $130 ($80 on sale). When one pays for cable that is terminated and from a reputable brand, it’s not unusual to have at least a sticker on the bag. It’s part of the pride of ownership, part of the experience. You only have to look at YouTube to see how important this is. FYI, I have used the cables and they are acceptable but not as good as my Kimber 4PR’s which I’ve owned for about 8yrs. The Kimbers definitely have the edge in clarity and smoothness. I’ll give CE a nod, the bass response was fractionally better in my basement system over my 4PR’s. As to the construction, it’s basic heat shrink tubing and nylon net harness sheathing which is also pretty ordinary. As for the jacks, they seem solid but the threaded ends are hard to tighten without marring the finish and as mentioned previously, over half were loose in the bag. The banana end on the jacks spin freely on the threaded portion of the jacks - I’m not sure how this will play out in terms of long-term reliability, but I imagine if they’re not plugged & unplugged too often then they should last a while. The jacks are the only thing that identify the cables as CE, in small white lettering. The cable itself is thick and seems robust, albeit a little inflexible, which is no surprise and not a negative in my opinion. Altogether, I’m somewhat satisfied but I expected better build quality from CE.

Thanks for the review, your additional details regarding the construction and sonic quality are helpful. To be fair, 8 foot Kimber 4PRs with banana plugs cost around $150, these CEs are $50. Also, the photos indicate the banana ends can be unscrewed, so I'm unclear as to why you're concerned that some of them were loose in the bag. And, fancy packaging costs more, so the generic packaging is likely a part of how they keep costs lower for this drop.

dan_someoneOn the contrary. The CE cables list for $130 and I bought them on sale for $80. As a consumer I expect my purchases to be ready to go out of the packaging. It doesn’t say “some assembly required”! I don’t get why you’re trolling my review, and why you’re defending CE. Did you buy these cables? If so where is your review? As to the package, I think I’ve made my point. I’ve bought cheap Monster cable with a nicer presentation. That will be all from me on this thread, I’m thoroughly bored. Anyone want some used CE cables....

Nope, didn't buy the cables, and I'm not defending CE. I thought your opinion about the construction and sonic quality of the cable was good advice. As for the price, the CEs were $50 when I posted my comment, but I agree it's fair to consider their list price to determine if they are really a bargain or priced appropriately on drop. As for the rest, if you consider screwing a couple plugs to be assembly and value presentation above substance, then it figures you would lash out when someone dares question the utility of any bit of your advice. Lighten up, man. Oh, I forgot, you're bored and done. But my comment received more thumbs up than your two comments combined.

CEntranceHi there, off topic but my page says they went from $299 down to $50. Is that actually what they were selling for at some point? Cheers
