I received these a few days ago from the last drop. They are well made, feel heavy and replace a set of Straightwire Music Conductors that I have had for some time. I could hear a notable difference right away- better bass extension, crisper highs and a broader soundstage. Snake oil or not these are great cables at a great price. I truly don't understand all the hate these have received. I plan on buying another set before they are gone.

Morri2Just an FYI these cables are 100% snake oil and any sound improvement is just placebo. The signal is already amplified and carrying power. Noise will do absolutely nothing to a speaker cable. Do you hear noise when your stereo is turned off? Noise has no power and can't possible do anything to an already amplified signal carrying more than a few mW. Noise has power in the uW (at most) and typically it's in the nW. This only can effect small signals that have yet to be amplified (hence balanced/differential connections on amplifiers). When it comes to speaker connections, all that matters is if your cable is thick/stranded enough to handle to the load current. If you replace this cable with similarly thick/stranded cable it will sound exactly the same. The gold connection is only for corrosion protection (otherwise you would just use silver as that's the best conductor, however silver/copper corrodes so we coat with gold). Just goto Amazon and buy some cheap speaker wire of the proper size and save your money.

k0ssYou have a right to your opinion. Have you tried these cables compared to the cheap ones you mentioned from Amazon? I have yet to see any DYI cables with a 12 AWG solid core conductor so which cables are you comparing these to? I have tried the thick Monster cables that have a similar AWG and the sound produced is not as good as these cables. Again, have you tried these cables?

Morri2opinion has nothing to do with it, its science and entirely objective(this can be proven with a simple null test) high end speaker cables are ALL snakeoil. there is functionally zero difference between 2 conductor extension cord wire from home depot, and this nonsense. your money is yours to waste, though

negative-feedbackTesting side by side, there is a difference, I have been in this hobby 20+ years so I feel I know the difference. Non high end pre made cables sell for at least this much or more on other sites so I don't feel like I'm wasting my money. If you have tried these cables and feel the sound quality is poor I would understand but if you haven't tried these I don't understand the negative remarks, science or not.

Morri2cool man, i build pro audio equipment for a living, and own a LOT of test equipment that is a whole hell of a lot more sensitive than any humans hearing. between that and ya know, actually understanding the physics and design principles that goes into audio equipment- i can tell you in no uncertain terms that the difference you hear is a combination of placebo, and the fact that your head moving your head even one inch(in any direction) can yield noticeable changes in what we hear. It should also be noted that although i havent tried this brand specifically, and i have done both ABX tests and null tests with similar cables, and even (supposedly) nicer cables. its all the same. its your money to waste, but you theres a plethora of well documented and understood science behind this

negative-feedbackI hear you and respect your point of view and knowledge. Compared to other cables priced $100 and down I think these are a good choice for $50 considering the materials and build quality but I really wouldn't spend more than that. I could never really justify more than $100 for speaker cables even though they are many above that range. Thanks.

Morri2some helpgul advice so i dont come across like TOO much of a curmudgeony asshole- spending a bit more on cables makes sense in some situations-build quality is important. a poorly made cable can definitely hamper your sound quality if the soldering is no good, same if the connectors are low quality and dont make a firm connection. In very humid environments, gold plated connectors are also far less likely to oxidize. in balanced cable runs, the quality of shielding makes a difference, too.

negative-feedbackThrough the years I have owned some used AudioQuest, Kimber, Starightwire and Analysis cables that retailed at $300 to $600 and the sound and build quality of these are comparable. I do live in good old humid Florida by the way.
