Why would you use one solid conductor in the center? If I'm a low frequency signal seeing a bundle of litz wire, I'm going to see the same impedance as the high frequency signal if the wires are small in comparison to the skin depth. At treble frequencies the skin depth is approximately half a millimeter, so you want a bundle of wires smaller than this.
This as far as I can tell offers no advantage over straight litz wire.
Also I don't know if I COMPLETELY believe the skin depth calculation in normal speaker wire. In a stranded conductor, the strands all touch each other so it's not totally obvious to me what the current profile would look like. Litz wire is cool because all the strands are insulated from each other.
tl;dr it's not like each bundle of wires serves each band. The thin wires serve the treble and bass and the thick wires serve just the bass. Why not just bundle a bunch of thin wires. Much cheaper to make.
