Sure these look nice and all, but are they 5x nicer than the monoprice ones I have? That work perfectly fine & also look just as nice to me?

I just can't believe that most people have the hearing abilities, equipment & environment that would allow you to hear any real difference..... i'm fine with paying more for a nice looking, high quality pre made cable but saying it improves sound quality sounds shady AF. Change my mind?
radpoodle Higher quality materials, better build quality, insulation and ability to withstand higher current. This is important if you're playing your music loud and your speakers are lower impedance. Not important for cheaper systems, more important for bigger, more powerful systems.

CEntranceDo you have any data to support any of the claims you've made about these cables? Comparisons with similar dimension (length and width) cables made from "Lower quality" materials? Network analysis? Why should I buy your 12 AWG cables when I could get 10 AWG for much cheaper, that would by definition support higher current?

theroflcopterBecause "skin effect" of course. Even though you could get similar current carrying capability and "skin effect" from twisting up cat6 ethernet cable as i mentioned somewhere else in the thread here.
The centrance owner is a really good sport, but don't expect him to show anything that can back up any of those claims.

PigmonkeY"good sport" is much kinder than what I would have said :)
I'm more disappointed in massdrop for selling this junk than anything else really.

CEntrance"Higher quality materials, better build quality"
im all for that. but at what price premium to me? ehhh, probably not 5x the cost of what i got. is there any empirical data on the difference between these and lower priced comparable ones performance?
im not bashing the product at all, just curious if it really can perform that much better vs just looking very nice for a large premium. and there is certainly a market for them regardless of my opinion and any real data. to many $100 is a tiny fraction of the overall spend so why not just get quality stuff that also looks very nice? people buying $25,000 speakers are probably not worried about spending $100 vs $20 on speaker wire after all.

radpoodlePeople buying $25k speakers are more likely going to spend $5k on cables (or more). There's a much higher chance that they are experienced audiophiles who have a good ear and a good listening environment, such that very small differences in cables make an audible difference.
