At last, they are shipping! Can wait to get them. To the any wire can do it crowd: I respect your views and opinions, but to trash someone or something because you don't believe or trust it, it's not a free pass to be disrespectful. I'm willing to pay for a 100 USD copper wire cable for my audio system and that doesn't make me an idiot. Stop the hate and embrace the diversity and respectful interchange of opinions. Have a nice one everyone :)

simonucaI'm not interested in opinions, I'm interested in what these cables actually do that is so special. You are of course welcome to your beliefs, but I'm not willing to shell out $100 without some kind of scientific basis for the value in these cables.
theroflcopterDon't looks, aesthetics, workmanship, durability, and a warranty count for anything? And those attributes are in addition to the massive placebo affect!

mattrisDelicious, delicious placebo.
This product is the classic example of the typical snake oil psychological trap. Lots of impressive sounding words, high price tag, people buy it and then convince themselves it must be worth it, because nobody would be stupid enough to pay 10 times the price unless it was worth it.

theroflcopterWhy is it not worth it? Speaker cables can make some of the biggest differences in your setup than even source and output devices. I've not had experiences with these in particular, but I know from personal experience how much difference a good cable can make.
A good quality connector, cable material, impedance, build quality, etc, are all factors. And you can't have all of those and get down to the $20 price you'll get from a Chinese made one, of dubious quality - not to say they're all bad, but they don't have the same quality nor quality control as something like this.
$100 is a fairly affordable price for a set of high quality cables like this. Unlike HDMI, DisplayPort and USB, speaker cables are very often not just snake oil marketing.

jameshewitt95All I'm looking for is some kind of hard data to back up these claims. The benefits of this cable should be measurable.

theroflcopterFair enough. But because of that, this isn't a market for you. Audiophile stuff is literally subjective first, facts last. Valve amps are a classic example of this.
But the price of a cable (or anything) is derived from the cost to produce it. For the $100 here, there would be about $25 in materials and then $10-15 labour per cable (assuming a good production line could pump 1-2 of these out per hour)
If you want the good materials, attention to detail and high craftsmanship, you need to pay for it. Quality and aesthetics are HUGE in this market.
I also do not believe that any differences in cables that are performing correctly will show up on any measuring equipment, but they will sound different if you A/B them.

jameshewitt95Facts last seems like a terrible way to spend money.
What are the 'good materials'? Again, there is very little information provided here.
There are ways to test cables which are far more sensitive than human ears, regardless of what you believe.

theroflcopter theroflcopter, why do you care what people spend their money on? I would think that most people buying Audiophile gear off Massdrop would at least done some sort of research. Maybe people are willing to spend the money for the build quality or aesthetics. I for one don't understand why you would spend thousands of dollars on amps, speakers, etc and then buy $5 wire to hook them up.
