Ignorance is bliss, indeed. So is ignorance of people that BELIEVE that cables do not matter, and will talk either about physics or electronics (that they rarely have degree in), or about 'placebo' effect (absolutely everybody that disagrees with them MUST be very gullible, yes), but just will NOT try.
For me, CEntrance is on my list of 'trusted' companies so far simply because DACMini CX outperformed anything else I tried by a huge margin as a DAC (can't say same about amp section of it, but it is may be my own fault for going with 1 Ohm mod, that is generally not recommended by CEntrance).
And while I used to believe that cables do not make difference (as long as they are not total junk), I kept open mind, and experienced over time how much difference they can make, even if I do not understand how exactly that happens. Laugh all you want, but cheap O2 amp fed from DACMini CX through not-so-cheap Big Sur cable happens to be my favorite setup now, and I own amps quite a bit more expensive, and placebo effect should have made me like them so much more. And no, Mediabridge cable did not sound nearly as good in same setup, by large margin, even that it is a pretty well-made cable.
One might have difficulty believing that car can be effectively steered (to a degree, in a turn) with the throttle, unless they have EXPERIENCED driving of fast RWD car (preferably on a race track). Does that make that effect any less real? Not really. Is that skill/understanding crucial for most people? No. Is it important to anybody interested in racing (or even just driving RWD car on wet payment)? Oh yes.
Those speaker cables might not be any different from generic spool of thick lamp cord. Or they might significantly improve sound from my speakers by removing real bottleneck in my system. Or maybe something in between. I will NOT KNOW what is truth until I try them and experience them. But I am inclined to favor opinions of those that experienced those cables already to opinions of those that are judging from point of no experience at all.
Flame suit on, earplugs in. Remember, ignorance is bliss? La-la-la ;)

OlekFinally a comment from someone with a blue star. I agree with your sentiment, even if I cannot grok your analogy.
Speaking as a previous non- believer, and an engineer, who attempted the "making of the cables myself"; I will say that at this point in my life, $80 for a well made set of cables is very much worth it. Can you you even guess how much my time is worth? I know how much my customers are billed for my time; so, comparatively, $80 would be cheap for them.
Nevertheless, I will save judgement for after the fact, and listen for myself. Until then, I am sure that I will not be going hungry from this drop.

LockedWrenchPortSo happy somebody else used word 'grok'.
May you always drink deep. :)
Analogy was simply about the fact that not believing in something does not stop it from happening. Same goes for believing in something. Experience trumps beliefs.
