We have the Chane Arx A5 1st Gen towers as part of a 7.1 HT setup, along with Arx (Chane) A1s and A3s. They are amazing. Best speaker purchase I have ever made for the money. Highly recommended. I found these on par with Golden Ears (minus the internal subs) and since I like my subs non-integrated into my speakers, I find these preferred. The SQ is just amazing. I've owned a lot of speakers & headphones over the years, and find these speakers hard to compete against for under $1000.00, even under $2000 (per pair) in most cases. Great value. Setup for reference: A5 x2 L/R mains A2.4 x1 Center A3 x3 rears A 1.5 sides Power Sound Audio v1801 sub & Antimode 8033 II

HexCowboyI was looking at that PSA sub, how do you like it? Does it pair seamlessly with the Chanes?

DeviltoothThat PSA sub is AMAZING. Never heard anything like it at that price range. It's optimized for H/T (vs stereo music - I'd probably lean towards a sealed Rythmik for stereo sub. It also was a bit sloppy/boomy in our room until I put the Antimode 8033 II inline, but due to limited space I had to wedge it into a suboptimal corner.

HexCowboyI really wanted Chane to release a new subwoofer (line) but since they haven't (yet) I'm choosing between Rythmik, PSA and Monolith (Monoprice). Thanks for the input.

DeviltoothI think you cannot go wrong with either Rythmik or PSA. If you want your Home Theater to rival (or exceed) the movie theaters and vibrate your couch like an old Harley, get the PSA. It's surprisingly tight and smooth for dual 18s as well - we listen to a lot of acoustic & jazz music. I am going to do a dedicated stereo setup and will likely go for a sealed Rythmik for that though. If I want to shake the walls with some Bassnectar I'll go fire that up on the H/T setup w/PSA. That said the Chane/Arx line do an incredible job handling vocals and strings. The first time we played Jiro Dreams of Sushi on the above H/T setup it was magical, as were live female vocal productions.

HexCowboyI've got a sealed Rythmik and have been thrilled with it. So snappy.

HexCowboyI have a Rythmik F15HP and it will rumble the walls with the best of them. While having a tight punchiness that is absolutely unheard of in the 15" sub realm. I think it is the best all-around sub on the market right now. You can get a bit more rumble from some crazy 18's, and a bit more musicality from a nice sealed 12. But the F15HP is like 95% of both worlds.

DeviltoothWhy not add Hsu to your list? I have the VTF2 MK5 for my 1800 cu ft space and it’s awesome. Stepping up to the VTF3 is even better if your space is large.

tinman143I actually looked at HSU, SVS, Outlaw and a few others. Extensive reading on bass related forums suggests I'd get the most bang for my buck from PSA or Rythmik. I do know HSU makes a quality product as I've previously heard an older model.

DeviltoothAll great choices you've listed. The performance between each of them in their respective classes would be splitting hairs. That said, folks in AVS forum are saying the bang for the buck king is the VTF3 MK5 fwiw. Enjoy the process and happy hunting!
