I've owned one of these before. It's adequate for only the lightest tasks, but that's about it. I ended up getting rid of mine because it wasn't worth the counter/storage space. If you're serious about cooking, planning to slice tough products such as air-cured meats, or think you'd be slicing on more than a monthly basis, you'll want to spring for something in the $200 range.

Is there a reason none of the photos show the cutting/front side of the unit? Seems a bit odd to me....
SantiagoDracoright, five pictures of the same view is fairly useless.
